On this year’s World Oceans Day, the Rakna team committed our time and efforts to cleaning up Mt. Lavinia beach. Oceans are one of many of nature’s miracles. They are not just bodies of water that provide peace and tranquility to our minds, but they are the source of life on Earth. They provide oxygen, an essential atmospheric element that is necessary for life to thrive and survive on our beautiful planet. We have to take efforts now to ensure that our ocean water is clean and unpolluted in order to create a healthy life for our future generations. The time has come to protect and save our oceans, and each of us must do our part to keep these gentle giants clean. We can all start by taking small steps such as not trashing the beaches and the waters, which can be harmful to marine life, by recycling whenever possible, using sustainable products, and adopting a lifestyle that is mindful of the environment and all the planets’ inhabitants. We must begin to hold ourselves accountable for our actions and the consequences that follow. It is never too late to start. Join the Rakna team and me in our personal commitment to make environmentally sound decisions in our everyday actions, however small or large they may be. Lets not give up on our oceans, our planet, and our home.
